Well As you can see my title for this post is Blog Candy for a Cause. Well I am going to fill a 12.95 Priority Box FULL of goodies Stamps, papers you name it, its going to go to the winner... BUT I need a BIG favor from you guys as this is the reason why I am going to give away that box of yummy goodies. Remember I had talked about Garrett, I am blessed to be one of his Chemo Angels and I am honored to be able to send a card or a hello a gift just so he knows he has people thinking about him well last week he went back he actually was not feeling too good and they found out his Cancer is back and so he has been having Chemo this whole week as you can image how their Christmas was I have been on pins and needles trying to see any updates he really was sick because of the chemo the past 2 days (those were the last days of Chemo for now) Garrett has Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia. Right now they are trying to get all the Cancer out so they will be able to give him a Bone Marrow transp. and right now they are testing to find him donor as well.. So here is where this post comes in hand I want to be able to send him a box full of cards because he loves to receive cards and I know that will get his spirits up he is one of the sweetest 7 year old ever. So to be entered for the Blog Candy all I ask that you send me a card so I could mail it to him in one big box which I will also fill with other goodies for him.
So if you would like to donate a card and be entered for the goodie box please email me at ellie.augustin@hotmail.com

Oh and if you could PLEASE spread the word I would be forever in debt to you. I want him to open that box and just shine his beautiful smile as he sees all the cards made for him.

I want to send him this special box of love on the 20th of Janurary so please if you would be thankful.

This is the card I made that will be sent for Garrett. I used SU papers and Whimsy frog. For some reason, I couldn't get the frog in focus. This card was also made for Gina K's challenge today. The challenge was to have DP at an angle. The buttons are SU Bold Brights. I add Crystal Laquer to the top of the buttons to give them more shine.

Multi challenge card

Wow, I think this is the most challenges I have ever fit into one card. This card was for Cute Card Thursday Challenge to use punchs, so I punched the circles out with my Stampin Up circle punch. The paper is from Basic Grey, for the Basic Grey Challenge to use Basic Grey products. These colors were used for the Stamp Something Challenge to use something red, gold and green. The final challenge this fits is the Split Coast Stampers sketch. I also choose to recycle this heart charm and gold chain that broke.

My hubby

This is my hubby. The love of my life. This page was one that I have been wanting to do for a long time. Melanie has a challenge on PCP to celebrate her new set of stamps that will be released tonight

Here is a close up of the titles for place and date. This was made from clipart that I bought from Lettering Delights. They are having a fantastic sale going on right now. They have a library of all the fonts I have bought and I can make quick titles with their program. The small stars were cut using my big shot and the large stars were cut with my fiscars shape cutting templates. The paper behind the photo is from www.papertemptress.com. I love how the paper sparkles.

P.s Sorry about the underlining, I can;t seem to turn it off.

Christmas cards

Here are a few cards that Katie I made from the SU Simply Scrappin "I wish" kit. I love the fact that you don't need anything other than a cutter. Ribbon and stamps are optional. We cut the cards 4x4 so we made 36 cards in about 3 hours. I love how easy it is to make cards with these kits. We have enough supplys left over to add to scrapbook pages or make more cards. Jennifer has a challenge to make a simple Christmas card on her blog.

Cookie Basket

Jannie has a cookie challenge on her blog. I used my Chocolate chip cookie but added red and green M&Ms to make them more festive.

Chocolate Chip Cookie

1/2 c. Crisco 3 c. Flour
1. c. Butter 2 tsp. Baking soda
3/4 c. Sugar 1 tsp. Salt
3/4 c. Brown sugar 1 1/2 tsp. Cinnamon
4 eggs 1/2 c. Oats
1. Tbsp. Mint extract 12 oz. Chocolate chips
1 tsp. Lemon juice 1 c. Chopped walnuts

In large bowl, beat Crisco, butter, sugar, and brown sugar on high speed until very light and fluffy, about five minutes. Add eggs, one at a time, beating well after each addition. Beat in vanilla and lemon juice. In separate mixing bowl, stir together flour, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, and oats. Gradually add flour mixture to butter mixture, blending thoroughly. Stir in chocolate and walnuts. Drop dough on lightly greased baking sheet, spacing cookies about 3-inches apart. Bake in 325 degree oven until light brown, 16 to 19 minutes. Transfer to racks to cool.

A letter from Jesus

A friend sent me the following article. I think it is important to be reminded why we are going crazy trying to finish all the projects that we think have to be done and stop and remember that our projects don't need to be expensive. Our projects can be simple and it is the thought that counts. Just my two cents. God Bless and Merry Christmas!

A Christmas Letter From Jesus

Dear Children,

It has come to my attention that many you are upset that folks
are taking My name out of the season. Maybe you've forgotten
that I wasn't actually born during this time of the year and
that it was some of your predecessors who decided to celebrate
My birthday on what was actually a time of pagan festival.
Although I do appreciate being remembered anytime.

How I personally feel about this celebration can probably be
most easily understood by those of you who have been blessed
with children of your own.

I don't care what you call the day. If you want to celebrate
My birth, just GET ALONG AND LOVE ONE ANOTHER.

Now, having said that let Me go on. If it bothers you that the
town in which you live doesn't allow a scene depicting My
birth, then just get rid of a couple of Santa's and snowmen
and put in a small Nativity scene on your own front lawn. If
all My followers did that there wouldn't be any need for such
a scene on the town square because there would be many of them
all around town.

Stop worrying about the fact that people are calling the tree
a holiday tree, instead of a Christmas tree. It was I who made
all trees. You can remember Me anytime you see any tree.
Decorate a grape vine if you wish: I actually spoke of that
one in a teaching, explaining who I am in relation to you and
what each of our tasks were. If you have forgotten that one,
look up John 15: 1 - 8.

If you want to give Me a present in remembrance of My birth
here is my wish list. Choose something from it:

1. Instead of writing protest letters objecting to the way My
birthday is being celebrated, write letters of love and hope
to soldiers away from home. They are terribly afraid and
lonely this time of year. I know, they tell Me all the time.

2. Visit someone in a nursing home. You don't have to know
them personally. They just need to know that someone cares
about them.

3. Instead of writing George complaining about the wording on
the cards his staff sent out this year, why don't you write
and tell him that you'll be praying for him and his family
this year. Then follow up. It will be nice hearing from you
again.

4. Instead of giving your children a lot of gifts you can't
afford and they don't need, spend time with them. Tell them
the story of My birth, and why I came to live with you down
here. Hold them in your arms and remind them that I love
them.

5. Pick someone that has hurt you in the past and forgive him
or her.

6. Did you know that someone in your town will attempt to take
their own life this season because they feel so alone and
hopeless? Since you don't know who that person is, try giving
everyone you meet a warm smile; it could make the difference.

7. Instead of nit picking about what the retailer in your town
calls the holiday, be patient with the people who work there.
Give them a warm smile and a kind word. Even if they aren't
allowed to wish you a "Merry Christmas" that doesn't keep you
from wishing them one. Then stop shopping there on Sunday.
If the store didn't make so much money on that day they'd
close and let their employees spend the day at home with their
families.

8. If you really want to make a difference, support a
missionary - especially one who takes My love and Good News to
those who have never heard My name.

9. Here's a good one. There are individuals and whole
families in your town who not only will have no "Christmas"
tree, but neither will they have any presents to give or
receive. If you don't know them, buy some food and a few
gifts and give them to the Salvation Army or some other
charity which believes in Me and they will make the delivery
for you.

10. Finally, if you want to make a statement about your belief
in and loyalty to Me, then behave like a Christian. Don't do
things in secret that you wouldn't do in My presence. Let
people know by your actions that you are one of mine.

Don't forget; I am God and can take care of Myself. Just love
Me and do what I have told you to do. I'll take care of all
the rest.

Check out the list above and get to work; time is short. I'll
help you, but the ball is now in your court. And do have a
most blessed Christmas with all those whom you love and
remember:
I LOVE YOU, JESUS

Cards for Soldiers

I am collecting Christmas cards for the 184th Batillion. This is a reserve group that is stationed in Modesto, CA. They have just been deployed to Kosovo and they will be there for about 12 months. I know this short notice so don't worry if you can't help this time. I will be sending packages every 2 months. I am doing this in conjunction with a couple local groups. The cards need to be filled out. Have your kids write a note in the card or draw a picture. The soldiers love getting letters from home. I need the cards to be filled out. The cards need to be in my hands by Dec. 3 so I can get them into the box. Just email me if you have any questions. anitamocha@sbcglobal.net
